Understand the difference
A single speed pump operates at one motor speed. A variable speed pump provides adjustable speed settings, allowing the operating plan to suit different tasks.
Terms such as inverter and variable speed can appear in product descriptions. Ask the supplier to explain the actual control method and the functions included in the quoted model.
Look at the operating plan
An adjustable speed pump can reduce electricity use when it is set to provide the required circulation at a lower speed. The result depends on the equipment, the pool and the settings.
Your installer should check the flow requirements of the filter, heater, cleaner and other connected products. A lower speed setting still needs to support the equipment being used.
Compare more than the purchase price
Ask about electrical input at the proposed settings, control compatibility, installation work and replacement parts. Compare the running schedule and electricity cost as well as the initial quotation.
A savings percentage taken from another pool is not a reliable forecast for yours. Use information for the proposed model and your own operating conditions.
Confirm the model before ordering
Ask COREX which current models and control options are available for your requirements. Available controls vary by model. Request written confirmation of the functions included in the exact product being quoted.
