Choosing equipment

Choosing a pool pump and sand filter together

The pump moves the water and the filter removes particles. Select both around a compatible operating flow.

Two products doing different jobs

The pump provides circulation. The sand filter captures particles as water passes through its media. They work as part of the same system, but they are not interchangeable.

When asking for a quotation, include both products if you are planning a new equipment room. Buying them separately without checking their operating limits can leave an installer with a poor match.

Match the flow, then the connections

Ask for the proposed operating flow and compare it with the filter rating. Also check the filter valve, connections and required media. Your installer should confirm that the pipework can support the proposed arrangement.

A matching pipe connection does not prove that the flow is suitable. Keep the pump curve and filter datasheet together so the selection can be reviewed properly.

Allow for cleaning and access

Leave enough space to reach the pump basket, filter valve, drain points and service connections. The equipment room should make routine work practical.

Ask how the filter will be cleaned and where any waste water will go. These details belong in the installation plan rather than being decided after the equipment arrives.

Request a complete proposal

For COREX equipment, ask about Max Flow pumps and Euro Sand filters as a proposed system. Include the pool volume, intended use, pipe layout and destination. Request model documents, quantities, included items and delivery terms in the same quotation.
