Separate the pump from the filter
People often call this backwashing the pump, but the cleaning task applies to the filter. The pump supplies the water flow used in the process.
On a compatible sand filter arrangement, backwashing reverses flow through the media and carries collected dirt to the waste route.
Use the filter’s instructions
Ask your installer to explain the valve positions and the cleaning trigger specified for the model. Stop the pump before changing a multiport valve position.
Do not use a general timer or pressure number from another filter as the complete procedure for yours. The filter instructions should state what to do and when.
Plan for the waste water
Confirm where the waste route leads and how the cleaning discharge will be handled. Review this with the installer before commissioning a new system.
Keep the filter model, valve reference and media details with your equipment records. These are useful when asking about service or replacement items.
Request model information
For COREX Euro Sand filters, ask for the current filter and valve documentation. Include the model and photographs if the equipment is already installed. A clear record lets the supplier identify the instructions relevant to the actual arrangement.
