Follow the water path
In a typical system, water travels from the pool through the suction pipework to the pump, then through the filter and back to the pool. Additional equipment can be included in the circuit. The actual arrangement depends on the installation.
Ask your installer for a simple drawing showing the flow direction and the main components. Keep it with the equipment instructions.
Know the main components
A pump’s motor drives an impeller, which moves water through the pump. A strainer basket catches larger debris before it reaches the pumping section. The filter provides a separate stage for capturing particles.
The pump is part of the water care system. Circulation alone should not be treated as a complete water treatment plan.
Understand the labels
Learn the pump and filter model names, the normal operating settings and the purpose of each labelled valve. Ask the installer to explain these during handover.
Do not move an unfamiliar valve to experiment. Use the system instructions and request help when the function is unclear.
Use that knowledge when buying
When discussing a new pump or filter, share the complete circuit and connected equipment. COREX’s pump, filter and accessory pages help you identify the relevant categories. Ask for model documents before deciding which equipment fits your system.
