How much sand does a pool filter need?
It depends on the filter size. MICRON takes 75 to 450 kg. EURO takes 75 to 450 kg. BOBBIN-S takes 75 to 410 kg. BOBBIN-T takes 50 to 150 kg. PRO-MOLDED takes 20 to 100 kg, and PRO-Molded top mount takes 35 to 150 kg. Each datasheet lists the exact load per model.
How often should you change the sand in a pool filter?
The PRO-Molded datasheet gives a typical sand replacement of every 5 to 7 years. Backwashing cleans the sand bed between changes.
How do you backwash a sand filter?
Turn the 6-way multiport valve to Backwash. The six positions are Filter, Backwash, Rinse, Recirculate, Waste and Close. The pressure gauge on the filter shows when backwashing is needed.
Side mount or top mount sand filter?
Side mounted: MICRON, EURO, BOBBIN-S and PRO-MOLDED. Top mounted: BOBBIN-T and PRO-Molded top mount. Top mount filters are compact for small pools and spas.
Pool Lights
LED or halogen pool lights?
LED lights use much less energy than halogen and are kinder to the environment. COREX Beam LED lamps are rated for 30,000 hours. The 602B halogen light uses a 75 to 100 W lamp.
Can I add lights to an existing pool?
Yes. COREX LED and halogen wall lights fit existing pools without an installation niche. They fix straight to the wall with a reinforced plastic cross, anchor plugs and screws.
How do you change a pool light?
COREX wall lights have a patented locking system for easy lamp substitution. For PAR56 niches, Beam Lights are LED replacement lamps with 144 or 252 LEDs.
White or colour pool lights?
LED lights come in cool white, warm white and RGB. SMD lights add 16 colour programs with synchronisation, and an RGB-DMX model.
Pool Skimmers, Main Drains and Fittings
Which pool skimmer do I need?
All COREX skimmers hold 17 litres. Wide mouth skimmers (CX-40108, CX-40110) suit commercial and large residential pools. The standard skimmer (CX-40109) and the round cover standard throat skimmer suit medium-sized and residential pools.
What flow does a pool main drain handle?
The square main drain CX-40115 handles 850 L/min. The 8-inch main drain CX-40117 handles 558 L/min with a 2 inch BSP outlet. Round drain covers handle 558 L/min (7 x 7 inch) and 710 L/min (9 x 9 inch).
Threaded or glue-fit return inlet?
The return wall inlet and suction vacuum come with a 2 inch thread (CX-40101, CX-40102) or as glue-fit for 63 mm pipe (CX-40103, CX-40104).
What racing lane sizes are there?
Float racing lanes come in 120 mm and 150 mm diameter, in 25 m length (CX-4026, CX-4024).
Pool Ladders and Handrails
How many steps does a pool ladder need?
Standard, Wall and Mix ladders come with 2, 3, 4 or 5 steps. Overflow ladders come with 2, 3 or 4 steps. Each datasheet gives Size A and Size B for every model so you can match the pool depth.
Which pool ladder for salt water?
All ladders are AISI 304 stainless steel. A 316SS option is available for saltwater pools.
What is the difference between Standard and LUXE?
LUXE models have anti-slip steps. Frame, tube and sizes are the same.
Which ladder for an overflow pool?
Choose the Overflow or LUXE-Overflow handrail ladder.
Pool Cleaning Equipment and Test Kits
What do I need to clean a pool?
The CX-MT-50 maintenance kit has the basics: vacuum hose, leaf skimmer, leaf rake, pH test kit, wall brush, flexible vacuum head and aluminium pole.
